hola familia
okay so I guess I will start with transfers. So me and elder martinez are staying here in palermo. There are a bunch of changes though. Elder martinez got called as district leader which will be interesting. Elder mcnab is staying in juncal and has a new companion since his companion died. Elder diaz left and Elder middaugh got called as zone leader but is staying in juncal also. The other zone leader is moving to be with him which is elder leva whos way chill. And then some other changes too but yeah I'm way glad that elder middaugh is still here cause me and him have been becoming pretty good friends and he is honestly one of the funniest kids I know. Honestly he's about as funny as cade haha. Okay hmm so earlier this last week and today we helped our ward mission leader move which was kinda sad but its alright. And also we have had an investigator named eddy who has wanted to get baptized for about a year now and has been going to church and everything but he had to move cause he was living with his girlfriend and so it took almost a year to find a cheap place to live. And then on Friday he finally found a place and called us and wanted his interview. He moved into juncals boundaries so they baptized him but it was way way cool. He is from holland and knows 5 languages. Including English. Thats a pic of me and him with elder middaugh and elder martinez when we helped him move. So then also we talked with mabel this week and she is doing really good and we talked to the hermana missionaries that correspond to her area and they are going to start meeting this week and get baptized this Saturday. Oh and also we baptised johana yesterday. Shes ulises sister. (ulises it the biggest nut you would ever know). hes always runnin out of church and wants something to eat and just wrecks havoc all day. But yeah so it was crazy cause a few days ago their parents punished them and said they couldn't go to church on Sunday. Well it was the moms boyfriend that said that cause he doesn't like us and doesnt want anything to do with the church. The mom is really inactive. But we went on Sunday morning to look for them and somehow they were able to go and the boyfriend left so we got the signature from the mom and then during church johana had her interview and it all went good! So yeah and also yesterday we went to the despedida (farewell) of the missionaries leaving and that was great cause I got to chill with elder jorquera and elder brown for a bit (as you can see in the pictures) and a few friends of mine were the ones leaving so yeah that was good. We had some random investigators show up in church yesterday that we are going to be visiting this week so that should be awesome.

Also something that I was kinda thinking about this week and always thought was interesting was that in south america they dont really have ratings for their movies like we do. So most of the latins here have seen a bunch of rated r movies and stuff. But a lot of people would think that they are lucky and I actually thought that at first. But its really not like that. We are lucky we have ratings and counsel from the prophet not to watch those movies and even some pg13 movies. They have to be a little more careful than we do. Also I was thinking a lot about some less actives that have kind of a habbit of using gods name in vain. And I found a scripture I really like. Its james 3:8-13. It talks about how spiritual words and goodness basically cannot come out of a mouth that says fowl things (that includes swearing). They cant coexist. But yeah I thought that was something we could all understand a little more to help us keep the spirit. I also read a part of a talk which I loved and I'm sure the talk is all good but I thought youd maybe want to read it as a family mom. Its ¨when shall these things be¨ by elder ballard, byu 1995-96 speeches. ohhhhh I forgot! since we broke the baptism record for last month on I think it was wednesday our zone and the missionaries that left today all got to go do an endowment session at the temple with president and his wife. It was way way cool! A bunch of us went out and ate at a peruvian restaurant afterwards too which was cool.

No we werent allowed to take cameras last weekend with the temple stuff so that was kinda dumb.. but its alright. haha yeah sounds like cassidee is adjusting well to high school. Tats good! wow thats nuts about the calls. What day does connor and kyle leave? yeah here it is starting to get really hot and humid.. but yes I print out the emails you send from my friends every week. Whats austin doin everyday? Well I'm glad everyones doing pretty good. les amo a todos mucho! This church is true!!

ps. haha mom when hermana *gonzalez says hola soy luz. that means hey this is luz. luz is the 10 year old daughter haha ;)

hola familia
Okay so umm I honestly dont even know where to start.. okay so this week was the weirdest craziest week ever. So our numbers this week were horrible cause of the temple stuff but thats okay. So first of all on friday we went to san fernando (the mission office chapel) and we got to get mail and stuff waiting for everyone to get there. I only had one letter.. hahaha thats okay. So I got to finally talk to people and see people like elder harrison and everyone else from my mtc district. I talked to elder jorquera and elder dewsnup and my brother elder barnwell and just all of my friends. Its so sweet meeting the whole mission together cause then you get to see everyone. So then we went to a different chapel like 2 hours away and had the special fireside with President Eyring, Elder Ballard, and Elder Christoffersen. Man it was so sweet!! It was so good! Elder Ballard and President Eyring had translators all weekend so it was sweet to listen in english. Elder Christoffersen speaks way good spanish and I understand everything so thats good too. and yeah I didnt get to see shawn that day. Then the next day we met with everyone again and went to the stadium of independiente and participated in the practice of the program and just chilled and stuff til the actually program. It was sweet I got to chill and talk with friends and I sat and talked with elder harrison and elder alder for a couple hours. elder harrisons in the south haha elder brown is too. And then I saw shawn and talked to him for a sec too!! :) It was so great to see him! un freakin capo! I really miss that kid. Its been so long. Then the whole program was way way sweet and President Eyring and them were there and said a few words and then sat in the box and watched. It was cool. It was honestly like a mormon stadium of fire. All we did was walk on the field and line up in different spots singing called to serve haha but dont worry I got grass from the stadium :) but yeah we watched a ton of different dances from different cultures and stuff. Then Sunday was the rededication and we attended the morning session which was way cool and good. I loved all the talks all weekend. Then we were going to go back to the session at 3 so ana and cecilia could go cause they had their interviews and got the pass to go and everything so we called them at like 11 and they said they weren't going to go so we were kinda sad. We went to the gonzalezs house to talk to them and stuff for a little bit cause ayelen is in the hospital with some really bad problems with intestines. Today is her birthday and I think shes coming home today so we will go see her which will be good. We've been talking to her and helping her through it all week. And while we were talking at their house I decided to have faith and act. My companion said ana and cecilia werent gonna go and started making plans to what we were going to do that day but I told him no and that they both are going to go. So we decided to just go to the villa and try to get them to go cause we dont have credit to call right now. So it was way crazy. We went and got our lunch that a member gave us to go which was way far and then we got lost and didnt know how to get to the villa. It was 1:30 at this point and the villa is far and the temple dedication chapel is farther the other direction. So then my companion said theres no way we are going to make it. I told him we have to try. So we took a taxi to the villa. Somehow convinced ana and cecilia to go, waited for them to change, took another taxi to pick up luz Gonzalez. At this point it was 2:30 and its a 25 minute bus ride to the chapel.. so we sent the 3 girls in the taxi and we literally sprinted to a bus stop, got on the bus, got there at 2:50 and sprinted to the chaple and entered with the girls and it went great! We only could have done all that cause of our prayers and faith and the Lord. He made it possible because we decided to act and exercise our faith instead of say alright well its too late. I knew that ana and cecilia had to see the apostles and they liked it and it was great. I'll tell you what happened on the way back to the villa when I get home haha. It was weird. So yeah that was a small recap of the weekend. Oh yeah and yesterday we went to go find the house of our investigator mabel thats doing way way good and is gonna get baptised this weekend. We found it... and its half a block out of our area.... so we cant baptise her. We are going to talk to her tomorrow but its really sad. But its okay as long as she gets baptised somewhere. We dont care if its ours. We just want her to enter into the Lords kingdom and change her life. So yeah. Something that Elder Eyring talked about on friday and then all his talks the whole weekend were similar was he said "the day that you really know and understand that god knows each and everyone of us and loves us will change your life." He talked a lot about how we all say we know and love the Savior but that most of the time we dont really act like we do cause we dont really understand. All the talks were so good! I wish you guys could have heard them! You can read some of my notes when I get home. So yeah and then also this next monday is transfers already. This transfer went by so so fast! so yeah I think thats it for the weekend. oh and also we are working with ulises' sister johana to get her bapised this weekend too. So hopefully we can do that.

Oh good I'm glad cass passed her test! luz showed me some pics from cassidees facebook. She looks like shes having a ton of fun in high school and at the football games. pero ojo mama, ojo con esos chicos ;) no you never did send me the picture of me and austin at the mtc so I havent seen it. But yeah I really love it cause I know that the decision I made to come here and the decisions I make everyday will affect each and every one of you as my family. The decisions all of us make affect all of us cause thats how a family works. I made the paragraph into a book mark in my scriptures and its marking the scripture where ammon is talking and he sees his brethren again and he is really happy but not only cause he saw them again but because they were still his brethren in the Lord. great scripture! and dont worry. As long as austin comes out to the mission field he will learn all that stuff your talking about. Not sure if I told you this quote before but I found it awhile ago and have loved it ever since. "we cant be happy if we dont want to do the things that bring happiness. even if we do those very things." I really like that and a lot of times we dont like doing certain things but we know its right. So basically only with doing it and praying to the Lord for help can we begin to like those things. Don't know why I thought of that but I like it. haha bananas? weird.. no I'm good with just pills. bueno, les amo a todos mucho!!

hola familia
So this week was a pretty crazy week. So it was sweet that this week we actually gave quite a few blessings which was cool. Cecilia got sick at the beginning of the week and we were worried she wouldnt heal in time to be confirmed yesterday but we gave her a blessing and she was back to normal a few days after which was sweet. I love having the priesthood its so sick! so cecilia and ana and ulises got confirmed yesterday which was good. We are way way good friends with them now and they are with ayelen too (20 year girl in the ward that helps us out a lot, that I mentioned last time). It was really stressful with lots of stuff and cause ulises is really just a little nut haha. But it all worked out okay. We had zone conference thursday which was really good too! So I finally got your package and thank you so much!! :) I love all the treats and the book and all of it! and thank you kirsten too! :) and no I really cant wear the bracelet but thats okay cause I'm excited to wear it when I get home so thank you!! after the conference I got to talk to president for a little bit about some stuff that was going on that he helped me with and it really helped me alot and I am very grateful for him and his love for us. I love that I'm starting to see him and his wife more as my mission parents instead of my leaders. So basically our zone broke the baptisms record for most baptisms in a month. It hasnt been broken in 2 and a half years which was sweet! So earlier today our stake president took our whole zone of missionaries out to mccdonalds which was sick and freakin expensive but hes just way chetto I guess. After that we actually played basketball which felt really good cause that doesnt happen very often here. and trust me you dont want to see an argentinian try to play basketball.. haha. oh okay so also we have an investigator named mabel whos about 26 or something years old and she just showed up in church like 2 weeks ago with her boyfriend whos a member and then they went to the temple and the day after that we had our first lesson with her and she told us about how she cried in the temple and felt it way strong. We have had like 3 lessons with her in total so far and she already has made the decision to get baptised cause we put a date with her and she has been thinking about it and studying a lot. So thats awesome! We should baptise her next week cause she still needs one more time in church and there isnt services this sunday with the rededication. oh yeah okay so we found out about this weekend for the most part. So on friday this week we are all going as a mission to some place and having a meeting with President Eyring and Christoffersen and Ballard!! And then on saturday with the cultural event in the soccer stadium we found out that we arent just going but that we are actually participating in it. We dont know how but we will find out. Thats going to be sweet! And then sunday we attend the temple dedication I think just with our wards in the stake centers since they will be made extentions to the temple so more people can participate. so yeah it should be a really really sweet week!! Earlier this week I found a sentence in preach my gospel that I really love, it says "as your understanding of the atonement of Jesus Christ grows, your desire to share the gospel will increase." I loved that because I have been learning that a lot. Here I have really been learning and still am learning how to repent. The one aspect of me learning to really repent, not including anything else, already makes all of this worth it. I know that there is nowhere else I would have learned how to really plead for forgiveness from my savior other than out here serving Him. I honestly truely stand all amazed at the love jesus offers me. I am very confused at the grace he so fully profers me. and I really tremble to know that for me he was crusified, bled, and died. I know that no matter how far we have gone or what we have done that the lord loves us and he will forgive us. We may have to do something that we dont want to do to recieve that forgiveness but He will always forgive us as we conform to His will. Also last week we had to print out a talk and read and it was way good and I know you guys and I have read it before but its great. Its "what matter of men and women ought ye to be?" by Lynn g robbins of the seventy. great talk!

haha yeah familia gonzalez have told me a little bit about what you guys have said. and also luz (the 10 year old daughter (cassidess new best friend)) wants cassidee to accept the invitations from hermana gonzalez too haha I love luz. Shes my amigasa! we sing justin bieber together sometimes ;) hahaha. I am so glad your doing a lot better mom! and I'm grateful to hear that I can help my family in some way even when I'm far away from them. Just keep trusting in the lord and do His will. "when we are on the lords errand, we are entitled to his help" - presidente gulbrandsen. I know heavenly father is watching over you guys and helping you every step of the way. I'm glad I know that so that I dont have to worry. wow thats really really stupid about UVU and really sad. I hope austins doin alright. This doesnt really have to do with much but the thing you sent me like a month ago about what austin put on his instagram with the picture of me on me birthday and stuff ya know? yeah so I wasnt really going to say this but I still have it right on my desk. And any time I read that Ilike almost cry. It motivates me to do things when I dont want to. a few times, I wont go into detail, I didnt have the motivation to do a certain thing that I knew I should do and so I would read that and I think to myself that if I wont do it for myself then I'll do it for my brother. That little tiny paragraph you sent me that he posted on his instagram means a lot to me. I honestly before I left thought austin would be a lot happier with me gone that way he could have my stuff and I wouldnt be there to bug him. but yeah anyway. so its starting to get hot here. Its almost summer! finally!! :) but its like as hot as it gets in utah some days here and everyone tells me that thats nothing.. its going to get really hot and extremely humid. but the good thing is that when I come home I'll be leaving summer so ill be tan at least :) haha. dont worry cassidee will do great. I know she will! I always pray for her. I guess thats it for this week. les amo mucho!

(This is what Austin posted on his instagram on Cody's birthday, for those of you who don't have instagram and didn't see it:"Happy Birthday to my best friend in this whole world. Words cannot explain how much I miss this kid and how much he means to me. Love you Cody!")

August 27, 2012

hola familia,
So this week was a pretty good week I guess. It was pretty crazy too. So we had stake conference this week which was really good and spiritual. An area 70 presided and I really loved his talk he gave on Sunday. Well the parts I heard when me and my companion weren't out in the halls and outside chasing down our baptism that gets bored really easy and then runs out. There was a story he told that I loved and wish I had time to tell you it all but I'll have to write it down and then share when I get home. But yeah so we had a baptism after the meeting in the stake chapel along with a couple other baptisms in our zone that we just did all together. We baptised 10 year old ulises who is a capo (stud) and he asked me to baptise him which was cool. It was funny cause that same day we were in the villa with him and with ismael who we baptised a couple weeks ago and I asked them when we are going to play soccer together after he asked me to baptise him and he said right now and went and got a ball so we played around a bit and played keep away and I thought it was funny when he said "are you like messis trainer or something?" haha it was funny. But anyway the hermanas in our district had a baptism too and apparently they didnt have anyone to baptise their kid so I baptised him too which was cool. Also last wednesday we did divisions and I stayed in my area with elder diaz who is brand new to argentina and was waiting for his visa for like 3 months. Hes from miami and hes cool. We had fun and I taught all day which was fun too. But yeah and on Saturday morning the zone got a van to go to the temple so we got up early and went to the villa and got ulises and his sister johana (who we are gonna baptise soon too) and their inactive dad and we were hurrying to get to the church cause the elders were calling us saying hurry hurry they are gonna leave so we were hurrying and we got almost there and I said to my companion that theres no one there and then in that moment he realized that they were meeting in the stake chapel in belgrano, not at our chapel. And so we called them and said we couldnt come (well ulises and them cause we werent going anyway cause there wasnt enough room for any missionaries except 2, only investigators pretty much) and they said just get in a taxi and hurry and come and so we called a taxi and we were 5 and they only take 4 so we sent our investigators in the taxi and we didnt have money so that was a problem too but the elders in belgrano paid so that was good. But yeah it was just a pretty crazy morning that morning. And then in the afternoon there was problems with some members just kinda being babies but whatever thats okay. But yeah the baptism and everything went good so thats all that matters :) we played some soccer today and ate at a kinda nice buffet and I think I'm going to throw up.. so much argentina meat and dessert and stuff. I freakin love chori though. Its basically argentine sausage but its the greatest thing ever. They sell choripan which is the chori on bread with chimichuri sauce and I'm going to miss it so much when I go home haha. So yeah oh and mom if you still have an invite from an hermana gonzalez from argentina, accept it! Its a member here that we meet with and she wanted to add you. oh and cassidee I found your new best friend! She is the 10 year old daughter of hermana gonzalez but she looks 15 and she just looks like she would be your friend haha shes my best friend here right now ;) I told her your her best friend. And then her sister whos 20 is I guess a ward missionary person? Well basically she always helps us out and she always wants to do things for us and is nice so its kinda nice to have her at times. Also I wrote down another scripture to share with you but I dont remember what it says haha youll just have to read it, proverbs 24:3-4. So yeah I guess thats kinda it for last week.

Yeah we get a weekly letter from president that we read and sometimes talk about in district meetings on tuesdays. hahaha I know its hard to believe but everything is in spanish.haha okay not interviews with presidents and there are a ton of greengos in our mission and a lot of latins know some english and president made it a mission requirement for the latins to all speak in english by the end of their missions so in language study they all study english. haha its so funny to hear the things some of them say and learn and how they say it. English is such a hard language. I'm so glad I already know. I have really come to appreciate knowing english haha. wow lots of questions haha. We work in our area which is one ward which is palermo and juncal work in their area which is the juncal ward. hahaha yeah and about elder majarres being a zone leader before and now a district leader I will have to explain that when I get home haha. A while ago my comp said that we are going to the cultural event in the staduim as a mission? I'm not sure though. I guess we will see. And the thing with the apostles I think might be friday the 7th? not really sure on that stuff for now. I havent gotten any emails from tim or his mom. sounds like things are going pretty good and crazy at home haha. Thats always good I guess. oh good I'm glad foxy is going back out too. Whens he going out again? Well I guess that is it for now. les amo mucho!

hola familia
okay so this week was freakin nuts! umm hmm where to begin. Okay so we have 2 investigator girls that live right next to the kid we baptised last week. They both had baptismal dates for the 26th cause cecilia whos 9 needed another church attendance but ana whos 13 has all hers. So we put it for them to get baptised together. But then earlier last week we talked to our zone leaders and our leaders here are always about baptising now. Like not waiting. Cause thats what we have been comanded to do and not to procrastinate the day of our repentance. And so we were like okay but then that day ana was having doubts about her baptism cause she doesnt know a ton right now so we were thinking that it would be impossible to get her baptised this weekend without her sister so we called president and asked him for permission to baptise them both yesterday. He is always at the temple open house helping and we told him we were coming that night (thursday) with them to the temple and so he said he wants to meet them and then he will decide based on what the spirit tells him. So we went to the temple which was way way awesome and beautiful! He met them both at the beginning and right after came to us and said yes elders. So then we still had to talk to them about it.So after the temple when we were in a canopy where you finish the tour we talked to ana and she said that after the temple she doesnt have any doubts about being baptised and she accepted the date to be baptised yesterday. We talked with cecilia and their mom and everything was good. It was awesome. Even just the temple open house changes peoples lives. In presidents letters he sometimes includes comments people have made about the temple. I wish I could tell you them all but I remember one of them was from an athiest. No idea how to spell that.. and after the temple he said he now has no doubt that their is a god. So sweet! So yeah we went with people in the ward to the temple in like private buses that some cheto hermano rented which was sweet and we got back at like 10:40 haha and okay I gotta explain this part. Okay so theirs 2 wards that use our building. We are at 9 and the other ward is at 9:30. us=palermo, the other=juncal. And just this last transfer when I got here they split juncals area so now theirs 4 missionaries in that ward which is elder mcnab, elder diaz who is brand new from miami, elder middaugh freakin capo from layton, and elder manjarres who was my first zone leader in argentina and who is dying this transfer. If you dont know what dying in the mission is then ask matt haha. So yeah they were in a meeting that night until we got back at 10:40 cause they had been working out their 4 baptisms they were gonna have yesterday. And then we were gonna have 2 and so we did them together and just planning them all out and getting clothes for everyone was so crazy all week! But its alright cause everything worked out just fine. Theirs a 20 year old girl in our ward that we've been working with alot and is way cool and always makes things for us and gives us things. She got to be really good friends with ana and her little sister luz with cecilia so they slept over with her saturday night which they loved and is helping them have more friends in the ward. So yeah I probably just left out a ton of stuff but oh well thats okay. And it doesnt look like my camera is working for pictures this week sorry. Also we found out a couple weeks ago actually that on september 8th, the day before the rededication, our whole mission and I think buenos aires south and west missions together all the missionaries are having like a conference with elder ballard, elder christoferson, and president eyring when they come down. Its like especially for us or something. so that will be sick and there could be a good chance I get to see shawn!! :) I hope I do! okay yeah um some other random stuff. In the pention we have a baday (buh-day) dont know how to spell that either, but I used that for the first time in my life the other week haha. Look it up if you dont know what it is. Here in capitol there are a lot of jews haha and so I thought that was kinda funny which their hats or little circle patch of carpet on their head haha. Oh and mom also I heard that elder isley went home..... apparently he was having back problems and they said that he has to have something done to it or something and after he recovers if he wants to come back out he can only go state side. I was so sad when I heard that... :( we were gonna be companions one day... also with the baptisms its been sweet that we've been having baptisms cause the last baptism here in palermo before last sunday was back in march. pretty crazy.. It was crazy with 6 baptisms yesterday but it was sweet, almost all of us were in white. oh also this sunday we have stake conference so thatll be cool! umm a couple sweet things I saw this week is here theres a freakin 4 story cinemark! Dont worry, no temptation ;) also I saw a hobo on the street the other day laying on his blankets by a building with his tv hooked up watching it!! haha it was so funny! haha he was watching cinderella story with hilary duff. Also if you get tims email I wanna read them too and see how hes doin in the mtc. And I really loved the article about learning from the war chapters in the book of mormon last week. Its sweet cause lots of people skip the war chapters cause they say they are boring. Theres so many lessons we can learn from them. okay umm I think thats all but its probabaly not haha.

Wait what do you mean with 2 extra hours? We leave the villa always by no later than 7 cause its really dangerous at night but we go back to the city and continue working there. Soccer was so sick last week at the court we play. We are playing again today in an hour so this time Iwill be sure to take pictures. It rained a ton this last week but when it rains here its more humid so its really hot.. Its so weird. Your ears and nose and hands are cold but your body is sweating. weird weird feeling. Also with the temple they are doing a youth cultural event thing at one of the soccer stadiums on september 8th as well. Some huge cultural activity with dances and all kinds of stuff. Not really sure what but its at one of the huge soccer staduims here so its gonna be big. I wish I could write more but ill explain things better and stuff when my head stops spinning. Thats awesome about jacob and austins callings. That will help them a ton! Me and elder dewsnup taught the gospel principles class all the time so I know it will help a ton and they'll be great at it. Thats crazy about jason and cheese too. Theyll be great. haha yes I did get your guys recording a couple weeks ago thank you! okay well I know thats not it but oh well haha les amo mucho!!

August 13, 2012

hola familia,
So this week has been really crazy, different, and good all at the same time. so let me just start off by saying that capitol is freakin sick!!! I honestly feel like I'm in like new york city. Its huge and tons of people and stores and everything everywhere! plus like 80% of the people are white! haha but yeah so me and elder martinez are really good friends already so that helps a ton cause we have a lot of fun and work hard. We had a baptism yesterday which was a 9 year old kid from the villa whos a capo! okay I gotta explain the villa. so a villa here in argentina is basically the poorest poorest parts of argentina. They seriously live in like nothing.. but there are a lot of humble and nice people there and we have kids with baptismal dates there so this last week we have gone everyday. We have to take colectivos and walk like 30-60 to get there and then again to walk back but its worth it for the baptisms. And we also walk through places where everyone sets up their little booths/stores and sells a ton a ton of stuff. Lots of things way way cheap. I can probably buy almost any type of soccer jersey or jacket I want for between probably $20-$50. Dont worry I'm gonna stock up :) but yeah the thing about that villa is that its way poor so its a lot more dangerous. we have to take off watches and rings and stuff and hide the phone in our sock before we go in but thats okay. We never stay later than 7 at night so we will be just fine. We went there yesterday morning and brought 7 investigators and some less active members to church. a bunch of kids on the bus oh man it was pretty crazy but so worth it. The members that ive met so far are pretty cool so I'm excited to meet and get to know the rest of them. but yeah I'm stoked to go play soccer today with some people in our zone (including elder mcnabb, and elder milaugh- who is our district leader and hes from layton and way good at spanish and hes freakin funny and way tight) but we are playing in some sick indoor court so thatll be fun. I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff cause theres a lot to tell but thats okay. you can all hear in a year and 4 months ;) also our pention is way better than the one I had in tortuguitas which is so nice! It's not cold at night and not cold during studys either and instead of 30 seconds of semi warm water for a shower we have unlimited hot water which is just great! :) haha and I really love that my companion doesnt know hardly any english cause it helps me so much! okay okay umm also brad and toni and terrys thank you so much for the package!!! I love you guys!! :) and megan happy birthday last week! and kyler happy birthday today! oh yeah and also our mission hasnt recieved very many references from the temple so far so president gave every companionship 1000 more invitations on thursday that we had to pass out by sunday. It was nuts. We passed out like 750 of them. Just giving them to people on the streets and stuff. So many! but yeah so is tim in the mtc yet or what? and also I read a scripture a couple weeks ago that I thought you would like. its D&C 98:23-26. re bueno!` yeah my companion will complete one year in the mish this month. Whoever has more time in the mission is the senior companion. Being senior companion and junior companion are really different cause with being senior you have more responsibilities. I might get made senior companion one of these next transfers so i guess we will see. Like the senior companion leads more of the discussions kinda and has the phone and stuff but yeah. And yes I did get your package with the all the pictures and stuff. Thank you! un montonaso de fotos!! also with the temple open house us as missionaries get to go one time if we bring an investigator so we will get to go pretty soon. It'll be awesome!

haha okay ignore the part about tim. I put that before I read that.thats so crazy hes in the mtc already though! And also mom dont get too nervous about school. Obviously thats easier said than done but just know that heavenly father will never leave you. He is always on your right and your left to help you and bear you up. And also remember that the opposite of faith is fear. You already know all this cause your just the amazing mom that you are but I know heavenly father loves you so much and hes watching over you and protecting you every step of the way. I pray for you and for austin and cassidee and ashlee and matt and dad every single day. hey when does school start again for cass? hmm I think that is about it for now. My mind always races at a million miles per hour on p days. pero les amo muchisimo!!

August 6, 2012

hola familia,

So we are way late right now so I dont have much time. but I got transfered to capitol! haha pretty crazy and exciting at the same time. I am in the area palermo with elder martinez. he is from chile and I am glad cause I want to get even better at spanish. we played a little bit of soccer today and ate at a buffet today which was kinda fun with the little time we had. but hopefully this is a good transfer. It should be. capitol really is way sick! but yeah so I had a pretty good birthday I guess. familia cruz made a cake for me and sang to me with music and everything which was cool! gabi made tacos for us on wednesday and we ate with juan on saturday. and we had a noche de hogar with familia alegre my birthday night too which went great too. but yeah it was definitely a struggle with not being able to get belen and another lady to baptism last week. hopefully elder dewsnup can do that this transfer with his newbie haha hes training a new missionary so I'm sure that will be fun. elder jorquera left too to some ofther area so we wont see each other any time soon which is kinda sad but thats okay. yeah so I dont really have anymore time and I didnt even get to read all your emails but I will next week and hopefully send pictures too. les amo mucho!!
